With the starcast of Pyaar ka Punchnama legacy, here comes yet another flick with them reuniting for entertainment reaching next level and plot beyond the typical men versus women.
It begins with Titu crying his eyes out on the recent tiff with his girlfriend, following which Sonu consoles and dissuades him for his relationship while letting him understand that his relationship neither had a foot to stand nor love to rely and this was nothing more than moments of despair with the supposed average of 1 week per year of happiness!
Who knew retraction from one relationship would get Titu into the permanent bond of marriage with yet another woman, Sweety, getting Sonu’s abhorrence and dislike for the woman, role out into the entire film of tactics to throw her out of his life while she, on the other hand, was leaving no stone unturned to carve a place for her in the hearts of the family!
This movie serves as the testing ground of friendship and love where audience waits to see what prevails at the end of it all.
Sonu ke Titu ki Sweety had already managed to stir the audience with the trailer while everybody eagerly awaited 23rd February and the outcome, I must say, has been breathtakingly laudable!
Neither can the acting be criticised, nor the direction. Neither could I point out the story to be flawed and when it comes to music, the old songs with the coming of age mix has gotten the beating hearts and feet tapping.
While the sets and moods of certain songs got me to caste my mind back to Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani while Dil Chori and Badtameez Dil had similarities of costume and backdrops, it still felt afresh and playlistworthy. The album demands a special mention for I haven’t seen better remakes of songs than these.
While some might feel the film needed tweaking in certain arenas, in my opinion, I was most certainly entertained and had a pretty amazing time in the 2 hours 20 minutes that I watched. I could literally hear people clapping at the climax, no kidding. I’ve had a gala time and do let me know if you agree with me!
I would definitely want to rate it a 3.5 out of 5 stars!
